Sally Roberts – Bridesmaid

Sally, another DU swimmer, is single handedly responsible for showing me what it is like to have brothers and sisters. The third of seven kids, Sally made sure that I knew how to share and that “only child” behavior was not tolerable in any circumstance. Thanks for making sure I was well adjusted, Sally! Sally is an autism specialist at the New England Center for Children in Boston, MA.

Katie Sprague – Bridesmaid

Katie was my host for the swimming recruiting weekend at Denison, so technically, she’s known me since my senior year of high school. We ended up living together for a year at Denison. Both self-classified “nerds,” Katie and I spent a lot of time writing papers, making flashcards, and panicking before exams together in the library. Katie is also highly competitive. Don’t challenge this girl to an eating (or drinking) contest. She’s fearless and has an iron stomach. Katie is currently attending Widener University in Philadelphia, PA, pursuing a PsyD. in psychology.

Stephen McFarland – Best Man

Steve is perhaps the most unique individual I know. Growing up together we shared many interests from legos to computer games. I am so proud that Steve is the best man at the wedding, because he knows me like only a brother can. Now, Steve has many passions, including geocaching, astro-photography, kite flying, and developing clever advertising. Currently Steve is attending The University of Texas at Austin and is pursuing a degree in Advertising. Steve recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and is now pursuing a job in Advertising.

Kevin Poli – Groomsman

Kevin is married to Tracy. Although Kevin and I went to the same high school and college, we didn't really become good friends until after college. Kevin and I enjoy playing pool while enjoying a fine brew on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. More recently Kevin and I have shared the joys of new home-ownership (Kevin and Tracy just bought a house in the Heights too). Kevin is currently a lawyer at Porter and Hedges in Houston.

Patrick Romano – Groomsman

Patrick and I have shared and interest in flying since high school. We have done a lot of flight training together and worked (I use that term loosely) together at the University Flying Club. Some of my best memories of college are with Patrick flying small planes around central Texas for BBQ. Patrick is currently a professional pilot (sort of) and has recently started a aircraft management business. Patrick is also a tri-athlete, who has competed in the Ironman Arizona Triathlon.

Matthew Trana – Groomsman

Matt and I became friends in high school thanks to Tim. Matt is a virtual encyclopedia of music knowledge (among other things), and has taught me everything I know about appreciating music. Matt recently got married to Kim (another friend from high school) and they currently reside in Webster, Texas. Matt currently works as a technical writer at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

John Wakefield – Groomsman

Johnny (as I know him) and I have know each other since 3rd grade. Johnny lived down the street from us in Kingwood and is a great friend. Johnny went to Purdue and is quite an accomplished swimmer who has competed in the Olympic Trials. Johnny is currently studying law at South Texas College of Law and lives with his wife Sarah in downtown Houston.

Tim Wise– Groomsman

Tim and I met freshman year of high school, we both played drums in band. Since then Tim has gone on to play drums in several local bands. Tim is Tracy's brother and like Tracy, Tim is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Tim is a rockstar at heart and loves to sing karaoke, some of his favorites are Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. Tim also makes one heck of a Pee-Wee look-a-like (see picture). Tim currently works in sales for a telecom company in Houston, Texas.
