Well, we did it! We finally decided where we’re going on our honeymoon! Believe it or not, this was actually a tough decision – it’s a big world with a lot of fun places to see.

To help narrow the search, there were a couple of requirements a destination had to meet in order to make it as a “finalist” on our list of places to go:

1. No hurricane season
2. No cold weather
3. Hotel location must have prominently displayed picture of outdoor beach-side massage on their website

With that in mind we narrowed the decision to Bali and Hawaii. And our decision is – drum roll please – Hawaii! That’s right two glorious weeks on three fabulous islands!

We’ll begin our trip on the Big Island where we’re we will be staying at the Fairmont Orchid. We chose the Big Island because we heard it was beautiful and had a diverse landscape. We’re really looking forward to exploring the island and checking out some of the active volcanoes.

Our next stop will be on Maui at the Grand Wailea Resort and Spa. We imagine we’ll be spending most of our time relaxing on the beach and at the pool (they have a swim-up bar in the pool – bonus!). We also plan to do some snorkeling and perhaps biking down Mount Haleakala.

Our final days will be spent on Oahu at the Halekulani Hotel on Waikiki beach. Here we’d like to try our hand at surfing while enjoying one of the world’s best beaches. If we try the surfing, please check back at the site as there will likely be some ridiculous pictures of each of us “surfing” (or more likely flailing around hopelessly in a large body of water with large surf-like board).
